After much speculation by Ole Miss fans, D.T. Shackelford announced today via Twitter that he will forego an opportunity at the NFL to stay an Ole Miss Rebel for a sixth season.
Blessed to have another opportunity to play again with my teammates and locking the VAUGHT. THANK GOD for another year of that red and blue.

Shackelford has missed two seasons due to knee injuries, and earning an NCAA medical redshirt in 2011 gave him the opportunity to return in 2014 for a rare sixth year. This season marked his first time on the field since 2010, where he, as a redshirt senior, totaled 44 tackles (21 solo) and a sack.
Having been in Oxford for a while now, Shackelford has earned his undergraduate degree and should be well on his way to earning his master's. The continued presence on the Chancellor's list has become a fan-favorite among Rebel faithful for his academic dedication as well as his perseverance through two difficult knee surgeries.
Hotty Toddy, and thanks for sticking around, Shack.
