Defensive Tackle Chris Williams Commits to Ole Miss

Chris Williams, a three star defensive tackle prospect out of Sandy Creek High School in Tyrone, Georgia, committed to our Ole Miss Rebels yesterday. Recruiting service 247 sports has Williams listed as the 28th best defensive tackle prospect in the country and a top-40 prospect out of the state of Georgia. With offers from Tennessee, South Carolina, Ohio State, and Michigan State, Williams is a highly sought after prospect out of the Atlanta area. He is listed as being 6'1" and 280 pounds, and can carry that weight well enough if his highlight video is any indicator.

In watching his tape, I come away pretty impressed with how he uses his hands to shed blocks, his situational awareness, and his size. This is a guy who, if he does indeed sign with the Rebels, could be a valuable member of what is becoming a very deep defensive line. Landshark, fins up, etc.
