Roderick Taylor, an offensive guard who is committed to the Ole Miss Rebels and generally regarded as the top man at his position for the 2014 class, was named a preseason USA Today All-American this morning. Taylor is listed as being 6'4" and 300 pounds, but has the agility of someone far lighter. His athleticism and strength combine to make him an absolutely ideal guard prospect for Southeastern Conference football, as evidenced by his scholarship offers from Alabama, Georgia, LSU, and really any school that has a BCS football team.
Taylor's truly a special guard prospect, and adds to the impressive offensive line recruiting that Hugh Freeze has already done in short time. With current freshmen Leremy Tunsil, Austin Golson, and Daronte Bouldin making significant progress in fall camp, we should expect those guys to combine with current commits Andy Bauer, Tyler Putnam, and Taylor to form a pretty powerful and deep offensive line in seasons to come.
