Is #WhiteGirlWednesday no longer sacred?! Marshall Henderson, the polarizing and impossible-to-ignore Ole Miss Rebel shooting guard was suspended indefinitely today for a violation of team rules. CBS Sports is reporting that the violation resulted from a failed drug test.
It was just a year-and-a-half ago that Henderson, after testing positive for marijuana, cocaine, and alcohol, spent 25 days in jail for violating the terms of his probation - a probation which resulted from his being convicted of trying to buy weed with counterfeit money.
Henderson averaged just over 20 points per game, and led the Rebs to their first SEC Men's Basketball Tournament Championship since 1981 and their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2002.
If he stays in school and passes a few drug tests, then perhaps his suspension could be lifted. My wholly unprofessional opinion would have me guess that there's a 50/50 shot he'll be on the court for the Rebs this season. Obviously, as a fan, I want him back, and I'm sure most of you would agree with that sentiment.
