A consensus three-star defensive tackle prospect who boasts offers from NC State, Arkansas, Miami, and several others, committed to the Ole Miss Rebel football coaching staff yesterday evening. The Georgia native is a rising senior for Colquitt County High School, where he led the team with 10 sacks last season.
According to the Clarion Ledger's John Talty, Pittman is a cousin of incoming Rebel defensive back Bobby Hill, and through Hill was able to meet Robert Nkemdiche, Leremy Tunsil, and others during his unofficial visits to campus. Citing the aforementioned as his evidence, Pittman was convinced that Ole Miss is "on the rise," thus contributing to his commitment to the Rebs.
The 6'2" 280 pound tackle has a good frame, and moves fairly well in his highlight videos. He would almost certainly need time in a college strength and conditioning program to prepare himself to make an impact in the SEC, but that should not be a problem if we can establish some depth on the defensive front in our ongoing recruiting efforts.
