Another Oxonian has committed to Ole Miss for the 2016 class. This time, it's Eli Johnson, a big offensive tackle prospect out of Lafayette County High School. He also had an offer from Mississippi State but, judging by his Twitter feed, such an offer wasn't going to work on a dyed-in-the-wool Reb.

Only a sophomore, Eli Johnson is listed at 6'3" and 288 pounds, and has started at right tackle for the Lafayette County Commodores for the past two seasons. That is not exactly a small feat, considering how good the 'Dores have been over the past few years (they were in the state 4A title game this year, in fact). If Johnson's commitment holds firm - and we believe it will - he could become a valuable contributor to the Rebels in the future.
Eli joins fellow Oxonian (but rival Oxford Charger) DeKaylin Metcalf and North Panola halfback Justin Conner in the 2016 class.
Johnson did tear his ACL at the end of his season, but his youth leads us to expect that he'll make a fine recovery.
