With the Crimson Tide winning, that means the Gumpier elements of their fan base will only continue to Gump hard. That also means that the "S-E-C" self-congratulation borne out of vicarious successes can and will only get worse. Of course, the alternative would have been the just as annoying anti-SEC feeling even more empowered to proclaim the SEC as overrated all the while ridiculing Southerners based on their ill-formed stereotypes and preconceived notions of life south of the Ohio River.
I guess my point is that, as far as rational college football fandom goes, last night was a lose-lose situation for me and, really, America.

His bum shoulder was worse than we thought. Rebel quarterback Bo Wallace will have surgery to stabilize his collarbone - whatever that means - which will sideline him for at least four months. He'll most certainly miss Spring drills and spend much of the Summer recovering. More on this as it develops.

Not sports, but definitely Ole Miss related. No smoking on campus any more, and they mean it. What I do wonder is how they plan to enforce this on game days if they plan to do such at all.
