Humbled Ole Miss hopes to rebound after blowout loss to Georgia | The Clarion-Ledger
I too worry that Saturday's loss could be pretty deflating for a still-rebuilding Ole Miss football program. I do hope that this team can put the loss behind them, focus on the goal of a bowl berth, and take it to Vanderbilt this Saturday. This goal too is far from a sure thing though, as Vanderbilt...

... is looking to get to a bowl of their own. Both Ole Miss and Vandy are 5-4 right now, meaning that each team is just one win away from a postseason appearance. With James Franklin and Hugh Freeze both proving to be capable motivators, it should be a hell of a fight between their two teams this Saturday.
Ole Miss has one goal in Kennedy's 7th season: NCAA Tournament | The Clarion-Ledger
For, like, the fourth year in a row or so, this is the season that it's imperative for Andy Kennedy to get over the NIT hump and make it to the NCAA tournament.
Rebels Host Exhibition Tonight | OleMissSports.com
Andy Kennedy's squad will take on the Montevallo Fightin' Acorns* tonight in a Tad Pad exhibition that you should attend because, c'mon, what else do you have to do? The Rebs begin the 2012-13 season on the 9th against Valley and, yes, there will be a season preview forthcoming, although we might need a bit of crowdsourcing to help with that one. If you're ready, willing, and capable then holler.
Joker Phillips Fired at Kentucky | A Sea of Blue
I can't help but feel a bit for Joker Phillips with this firing. He seems like a really likable guy and, as a native Kentuckian and a Wildcat alumnus, you'd imagine that the UK job was his destination gig. But, when you get shut out and blown out by Vanderbilt in year three of your tenure, a year which was worse than the one preceding it (which itself was worse than the one preceding that), you're not going to keep your job. Not in this conference.
*Yes, I'm too lazy to look this up.
