For yet another offseason, it is summertime. Fireworks, cold beer, smoky barbecue, and bikinis define the time. We're having fun, and we would like you to as well. While our Autumn weekends will be engulfed in the conflagration of college football fandom, those of our Summer will be fun and varied. As such, we Cuppers would like to share with you our Summer weekend plans, along with the weekend plans of a few others of note, in order to hopefully give you ideas as to enjoyably bide your time until kickoff. This weekend's theme song? "Dog Days Are Over" by Florence + The Machine. Yeah. It's a relatively new song. Yeah. The singer is a girl. Wanna fight about it?
Barry Brunetti - Anything legal and safe he wants as long as it's away from the square and ends by 7 PM
Nick Saban - Going to the market to select fattened calfs (the sheep kind.... there's some debate over its spelling) for the annual blood sacrifice
Juco All-American - watching South Panola beat the hell out of Hoover High School
David Lee - thinking of a new hobby to take up. He's got to have something to do while he's sitting in the box at the stadium, right? (You get it? Because he's not calling plays! Ha! Ha ha!)
Sir Francis Drank - Holing up in an undisclosed location on the Eastern Seaboard, looking for survival tips from Treme and Man vs. Wild
Jarrett Lee - Looking for the Vegas line on interceptions in the LSU season opener; picking the over
Mississippi State videographers - Mining the Saturday Night Live archives for more comedic gold; trying to decide if Dan Mullen looks like Colin Quinn.
Ghost - Getting ready for the same hurricane that SFD's preppin' for. Realizing just how hopelessly inept Washington, DC - America's most educated city - is at handling even the mildest of disasters.
Jordan Jefferson - probably going out to a club.... I seriously wouldn't put it past him
