Here We Go: to be Handed to First 300 Students: Warren, Graham Final Act

ED: Written by One Man To Beat, Edited by Ghost so we can get Bud Light Money.

Let's take a break from the disappointments of this season for the final regular season recap.

Yes, it didn't go like we expected. The Cup predicted the way this season turned out as a "worst case scenario" back in January.

But it's behind the team now, so the fans should put it behind for now as well to celebrate the careers of Zach Graham and Chris Warren. On Saturday, these two will play their final regular season home games at Ole Miss vs. Arkansas.

Fake beards will be given to the first 300 students to honor Warren. Graham gets no such facial hair recognition...maybe they could've given out some sweet temporary bicep tattoos to honor him?

Warren and Graham will leave the program as two of the more accomplished players in the history of the program and to me, that fact takes precedence over the game.

Warren and Graham both rank in at least the top 20 for career scoring at Ole Miss – both scoring more than 1,200 points in their careers. Warren is in the top 5 with nearly 2,000 points. And I'm sure no one forgets that he had 0.65 of a season where he was out with a knee injury.

Graham is one of the winningest players in the program's history – notching 82 victories – and is playing his 132nd game in a Rebel uniform tying a school record for game appearances in basketball.

More important than the points, rebounds, assists, high free throw percentages and three point percentages, both of these players have encountered ZERO off the court issues. The basketball program as a whole has just had very few issues under Kennedy, and these two players have been nothing but class acts representing Ole Miss very well.

So, on Saturday, I'll forget about the lack of NCAA tourney trips and some of the disappointing plays these guys have made over the years. I can honestly say they are great ambassadors for the school and the basketball program, and we at the Cup wish them all the best going forward though I doubt they read the blog.

It's my hope that the Tad Pad/Tool Pool will be full on Saturday to see what could be these player's final game at Ole Miss. Let's send them out with rousing applause and a W.
