The Rebs earned their first SEC Tournament victory since 2007 as they bettered the South Carolina Gamecocks by 11 in Atlanta. Chris Warren played all 40 minutes, an interesting strategy in a tournament, and performed well. The real worry is whether or not he'll have the gas in the tank necessary to face Kentucky with the same energy he faced them a while back.

In an improbable last-minute victory, the Rebels took down the then-#11 Kentucky Wildcats earlier this season in the Tad Pad. Calipari's Cats are looking for revenge (and will likely get it) this afternoon against our Rebels in the SEC tournament.

Reports from earlier this week stated that Randall Mackey's speech impediment was the result of a concussion he received in the eight grade. That's not so, sayeth the Rebel quarterback, as he's apparently had these difficulties as long as he can remember. It's a sensitive subject (the sensitivity of which we at the Cup seem about not to give a damn), so he's sheepish to talk to media folks about it. We'll see this spring and, especially, this fall how much this impacts his game in the SEC.
