Out of Pocket
"Hey, we just played and defeated LSU and stuff and you didn't do anything about that?!" Oh, that is so not true; I tweeted about it and stuff. Regardless, if you've noticed a lack of activity around here, that's accurate. If you've lamented such then we're flattered and a bit perplexed. Regardless, the  NFL playoffs, weekends (we have an unwritten "no bloggin' during the weekend" rule around here), and womenfolk had us quite occupied over the past few days. We'll put more umph into it this week, and I would expect some more basketball and 'crootin talk if I were you.

Quickly noting UM’s shooting performance at LSU | Veazey
One Man to Beat or Juco will recap this game some more, but I would like to direct you to Veazey's blog where an interesting statistical comparison is made between last week's embarrassing loss to Georgia in the Tad Pad and Saturday's basketball blowout of LSU in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.

Mississippi knocks off Arkansas | ESPN.com
And, for both of you who care, the Lady Rebels knocked off the #24 ranked Lady Razorbacks. This doesn't mean much for their postseason chances, but a victory over a ranked SEC team isn't something to ignore.

Uriah Grant Commits to Ole Miss | Rivals.com
A junior college defensive tackle who had whittled his college choices down to Washington and Ole Miss has chosen the Rebels. He, along with Gilbert Pena, will need to be at least serviceable if our defense is to have a chance next season. Our D loses the two-deep at defensive tackle and return only one upperclassman in Justin Smith. Woodrow Hamilton, Corey Gaines, Byron Bennett, and Carlton Martin make up a nice stable of young defensive tackles, but we need size and experience there. Hopefully Grant and Pena can supplement that beginning this fall.

Ole Miss beats USM in tennis | Hattiesburg American
The Golden Eagles opened their season by losing 6-0 to the Ole Miss Rebels Flagship Men's Tennis Squad. At least there's something we can whallop State and Southern in on the reg. OLE MISS TENNIS TO THE TOP!
