The Cup Countdown - Number Three

New, 3 comments

In the ten days leading up to the beginning of the season, the cup is recapping its top ten moments and memories from last season.  Today, Juco All-American brings the faithful readers moment number three.

It's short and sweet. It's the Jevan Snead Drive vs. LSU. You know the one I'm talking about.

The pass at the twenty second mark in that video as well as the two passes leading up to it (couldn't find them on youtube. DAMN YOU INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY LAW!) were astonishing. We were there... blah blah blah... bachelor party... blah blah blah.

Anyway, those three passes were career-defining. Every Ole Miss fan remembers them. They were absolutely perfect. I have heard several people who know much more about football than I do describe them as "Peyton Manning throws." That's not at all unreasonable. While Jevan Snead has a long way to go before he's Peyton Manning, those three throws would not have been thrown better by Manning himself. They were absolutely perfectly on the money.

The moment when Mike Wallace scored that touchdown, I finally realized just how good Jevan Snead really is. He's probably one of the top 3 quarterbacks to ever play at Ole Miss, and we have only seen him as a sophomore.

So this one's to you Jevan. Keep on keepin' on.
