Rebels squander opportunities; play Thursday at 10 a.m.

The Ole Miss baseball team dropped their SEC tourney opener against Georgia by a score of 6-3.

The bases were loaded on two separate occasions and the Rebels failed to capitalize which was the theme of the day as the Rebels left 13 base runners stranded.  Kyle Henson stays hot as he had a 3-for-5 performance at the plate.

Drew Pomeranz started hot as he faced the minimum through three innings, and he had 5 k's through that same time frame.  However, his struggles in the sixth led to a grand slam which is the second grand slam by Georgia against the Rebels this season.  Ironically Coincidentally, appropriately, or really, any other adjective which means the EXACT OPPOSITE of the word "ironically," the first one came in the Friday night game in Oxford after Pomeranz got in trouble, and the score of that game was the same, 6-3.

Many baseball analysts predicted that one of the final national seeds will be awarded to Florida or Ole Miss.  The Rebels get a chance to make their case tomorrow in an elimination game at 10 a.m.

Ole Miss will start Brett Bukvich, a senior southpaw.
