SPOILER ALERT: Shea Patterson is really damn good.
I've wanted to make it for a while, and I figured I'd share it on a few Ole Miss boards.
After turning in an impressive performance at Nike's The Opening (4.49 40-yard dash), four-star running back/linebacker Devin White has narrowed down his choices to 10. The monster athlete (5'11, 258-pounds) can be utilized in a multitude of ways and will be quite the catch for whoever signs him. If you didn't know by now, it is well-documented that White and Ole Miss Shea Patterson are very good friends.
By now, you all know how good Shea Patterson is at throwing footballs. But, this past week unveiled something that most haven't seen: resiliency. After arriving to the Beaver State a little later than his Elite 11 peers and being behind in the playbook, Patterson found a way to climb up the rankings. He started out ranked as low as No. 9 and was No. 6 heading into the final day. According to Elite 11 Head Coach and former Super Bowl Champion Trent Dilfer, Shea got in the film room and stayed there all week in order to catch up. The dividends started to pay off slowly but surely. Then, despite starting 0-3 in pool play and then losing another to fall in the losers bracket, Patterson lead his team, LunarBeast, all the way to the title. With some help from fellow Ole Miss commit, D.K. Metcalf, they flat-out dominated. So when it was time to announce an Elite 11 MVP, it was a no-brainer.
It is the last day of competition at the Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton, Ore. for the Elite 11 Finals championship and Shea Patterson is sitting in 6th place out of 18. Patterson is the second-highest rated SEC commit behind South Carolina commit Brandon McIlwain. The final 11 will be named Friday night and a champion will be named.
After day one of the quarterback competition in Beaverton, Ore., some were concerned with Shea Patterson's initial ranking at No. 9. Since then, Patterson has been slowly ascending towards the top. The Elite 11 Finals will conclude July 10th and a winner will be named. Patterson has joined the fraternity of Ole Miss Elite 11 alum including Robert Lane, Jevan Snead, Raymond Cotton, Barry Brunetti and Chad Kelly.
Catching footballs from your back is all the rage right now. Odell Beckham and Jarvis Landry did it earlier this week, so Engram joined in on the fun. This dude can ball.
This comes after Tunsil's stepdad -- who publicly alleged that Tunsil took improper benefits from both Ole Miss and NFL agents -- confirmed to The Clarion-Ledger that an NCAA investigator interviewed him last Friday.
That's Jason Pellerin, an incoming freshman quarterback. That's also a hella impressive toss.
So yea. This dude got his ass beat.
