College Football Playoff: Will it be better than the BCS?

Even though my last article wasn't a big hit, I'm back at it. Today I am going to be talking about the new College Football Playoff. The College Football Playoff will be replacing the BCS, which has been the system to determine a national champion since 1998. It will be using a four team format that will be picked by the new selection committee that consist of thirteen members that includes Archie Manning. They will pick the four teams based on: wins, strength of schedule, conference champion or not, head to head results, and results against normal opponents. Which is a lot different than the BCS, which used polls and computers.

The College Football Playoff

I personally like the College Football Playoff because it gives us a better chance to see the best teams to end up in the championship game. I think the BCS got it right most of the time, but the times it didn't it was a disappointment (2013 when Bama beat Notre Dame 42-14, not that they didn't deserve it, it just wasn't very entertaining) and with the new system there will be a smaller chance of that happening again.

The Bowl Championship Series

It was good while it lasted, but we needed something new. To me the only problem with it was the way the teams were picked. There really wasn't much else wrong with it.All together I thought it was a good system that was effective.

Ole Miss's chance at a championship

It is not logical to say we could win this year. But we are a program on the rise. We have good players that have a great coaching staff to coach them up. If we keep building and recruiting as we are, we could have serious hopes for a championship in the near future.

ps- I won't be writing this frequently, I just had it on my mind.
