A reasonable suggestion.

The recent incident of desecrating the satue of James Meredith at Ole Miss has led to much bitching, moaning, and whining about the need to "change the culture" at Ole Miss. I disagree. I believe that what is needed is not a "change of culture" but a "change of perception" about what Ole Miss is all about in the first place. Ole Miss is an educational institution that should be THE leader in the presentation and discussion of ideas and points of view. There should be unlimited Freedom of Speech to search and find points of reference to find solutions to problems for our state, nation, and the world. This does not occur in an atmosphere of "political correctness" for so much is immeadiately dismissed, discarded, and ignored due to the "perception" from the PC crowd that what they do not believe, accept, or even like is therefore bad, false, and should be banned. Follow the link to an interview with Mr. Meredith done recently by the Daily Mississippian. See what the man himself had to say about the situation and how much relevance HE gives to it all. In conclusion, I feel that his suggestion to remove from display BOTH his statue and the statue of the Confederate Soldier on the Circle should be implemented immediately. http://thedmonline.com/meredith-discusses-incident/
