My friends, it is officially the weekend.
Something big is waiting to happen in that place they call T-Town. Will the Rebels come home having snatched a victory from a program dubbed "The Dynasty" by starry-eyed members of the media? I can't answer that for sure, but I will say this: expect a game. I am new to Ole Miss, I know a damn good football team when I see one, and hell, if they haven't already shown us, this is an up-and-coming damn good football team. Do I base that on the score? The yardage, the tackles, or any other number?
Not necessarily. Sure, those certainly are incredibly important. But there's a critical intangible in sports, a really peculiar one at that, and these Ole Miss Rebels embody it: this is a team with heart. Coach Freeze is a coach who insists THIS is his destination - NOT a stepping stone. The team plays with an attitude of wanting to win, and they have not psyched themselves out of a game this year. They are in it together, with the same goals in mind, and - as Oxpatch so eloquently stated after the Texas game - "WE ARE OLE MISS" means something entirely new to this group of young men than it did to Rebels of the past.
That being said, I wanted to share this with y'all in anticipation of tomorrow's monumental battle. It is one of my favorite motivational videos. (For our purposes here, the audio is way more important than the video, so if you'd like, open up your favorite Rebel highlight reel (muted) and enjoy!)
GO REBELS! HOTTY TODDY!
