Linebacker Nyles Morgan to Visit Grove Bowl?

Scott Halleran

The four-star prospect out of Crete-Monee high school in Illinois may be in Oxford in a couple of weekends.

Nyles Morgan, one of the top linebacker recruits for the 2014 class and a four-star recruit per Rivals.com, is interested in visiting Ole Miss for the annual Grove bowl on April 13th.

So he "plans on" it, and plans change, but at the very least it's exciting to see that one of the top high school linebackers in the country will be visiting Ole Miss. Linebacker will be a position of need for this defense in the near future with graduation looking to take its toll on the already thin group.

It is important to note that Morgan is a former high school teammate of signee wideout LaQuon Treadwell and current Rebel defensive back Anthony Standifer, which is a good or less-than-good omen depending on how you want to spin it. Maybe he wants to keep the Crete-Monee pipeline flowing from Illinois down to Oxford, or perhaps he just wants an excuse to visit old friends. Either way, I have no doubt that he'll have a damn good visit, and that we could reasonably see ourselves in the mix for Morgan's signature come 2014.
