The Rebels slogged their way through an ugly win tonight against a feisty Troy team, winning 3/4 Four Factors.
Jarvis Summers was an absolute beast early on, scoring 23 points before intermission. He finished with a career high 28.
The Rebels crushed Troy on the glass, outrebounding them 53-38. The 48.2% OR% is unbelievable. They had 28 defensive rebounds. We had 26 offensive rebounds.
Sebastian Saiz had his moments tonight. He knocked down a 15-footer and finished the night with 6 points, 6 rebounds, and 1 block. He may push for a starting position soon, as Aaron Jones doesn't have the scoring touch he has. He will be fun to watch as he develops.
While the Rebels did a good job protecting the ball most of the night, there were more turnovers tonight than we grew accustomed to last season. An 18.2% TO Rate is not bad, but we finished in the top 10 in the country last year at just 15.9%.
We missed Marshall Henderson tonight, no doubt. To bring his scoring punch back next game will open up even more space for the big guys to work.
It wasn't always a thing of beauty, but we're 1-0 and had no injuries. Henderson is back for Game #2. No complaints about this one.
