Here's how the Rebels (2-0) match up with the Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils (0-3) using the Four Factors. (National Rank in Parentheses)
|OM O||MVSU D||MVSU O||OM D|
|eFG%||42.6% (312)||63.6% (347)||40.9% (328)||39.9% (17)|
|TO%||18.5% (181)||15.5% (281)||21.5% (290)||18.5% (171)|
|OR%||34% (123)||36.8% (274)||25.4% (303)||27.9% (92)|
|FTR||51.6 (66)||49.2 (245)||47.4 (115)||41.2 (166)|
Not a lot to breakdown here. MVSU is not very good at basketball. There are 351 D-I teams and KenPom's ratings have them ranked 349. They can't score and they can't guard. They turn it over a lot and don't force many TOs. They don't rebound well either.
If you're in town this weekend, get over to this game. It's the home debut for Marshall Henderson and he'll likely be in the mood to show out with the football crowd in town. It wouldn't surprise me to see him with 5 3s at half time tonight.
(Sure to be terribly, terribly wrong) Predictions:
Ole Miss 96, MVSU 57
Marshall Henderson breaks the school record for 3s in a game, finishing with 34 points on 9/15 shooting from deep
AJ, Saiz, and Cox combine for 25 points, 25 rebounds, and 5 blocks
Janari Joesaar finishes with 4 points
(As always, the national rankings pulled from kenpom.com, quite possibly the coolest site on the whole wide intertubes... Red Cup Rebellion excluded of course)
