The Rebels improved to 2-0 this season with a 72-70 win over Coastal Carolina tonight, winning 2 of the Four Factors.
Welcome back Marshall Henderson. #22 checked into the game about 3 minutes in and was welcomed with a cascade of boos. He played under control for most of the night, really only letting loose after a steal and a dunk. He shot the ball very well (50% eFG%) and finished with a game-high 19 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 steals.
It's a good thing the Rebels got to the FT line as many times as they did, because they shot just 60%. Fortunately, CCU struggled even more, shooting just 53.2% on 16 less FTAs.
A little disconcerting to see such a high turnover rate and a low OR%. Those were two areas where I thought we matched up well with the Chanticleers.
Anthony Perez had a very solid game tonight. If he can continue to improve, his skill set would be a huge asset to a team desperate for points outside of the backcourt.
We will win a lot of games this season if Jarvis Summers can be as efficient as he was tonight. He scored 14 points on just 5 shots and chipped in 5 assists and just 2 TOs.
It wasn't always a thing of beauty, but a win is a win, particularly on the road. We're 2-0, no injuries, and Henderson's back, back again. HDT.
