After a few months of waiting and speculation, the Jackson Calloway High School star committed to his home state Rebels earlier today.
Three-star DL Breeland Speaks has committed to #OleMiss. Chose the Rebels over Florida State, Mississippi State and Arkansas.

Speaks is a three-star prospect on Scout and 247Sports and a four-star prospect on Rivals and ESPN's recruiting services. He is listed as 6'3", 280 pounds, and could play defensive tackle or perhaps strongside end on the next level. He joins three of his Calloway High School teammates - guard Roderick Taylor, wide receiver Dayall Harris, and safety Ronald Walker - as a part of this Ole Miss Recruiting class. His addition brings this Rebels class as high as #12 on Rivals.com's team rankings.
I've said before that winning at Ole Miss will mean first recruiting the best players in Mississippi to form a solid base for a full recruiting class. The Rebs (nor the Bulldogs, for that matter) cannot win on Mississippi talent alone, as there isn't enough to go around, but controlling what's within reach is paramount for either program's success. Hugh Freeze obviously knows this and has made it a priority of his recruiting, as evidenced by Speak's commitment, which marks the 11th Mississippian in the class.
