For yet another offseason, it is summertime. Sweet, beautiful, sweltering summertime. Fireworks, cold beer, smoky barbecue, and bikinis define the time. We're having fun, and we would like you to as well. While our Autumn weekends will be engulfed in the conflagration of college football fandom, those of our Summer will be fun and varied. As such, we Cuppers would like to share with you our Summer weekend plans, along with the weekend plans of a few others of note, in order to hopefully give you ideas as to enjoyably bide your time until kickoff. This weekend's theme song? "Home", a new jam by Mumford and Sons. Enjoy.
The United States - "What's that China? I can't hear you over the sound of all these medals clanging together. Call us on your iPhones. You know, the ones you build for us. Thanks."
Cuppers in and About Oxford - Going to the Saturday morning football scrimmage beginning at 9:45. Writing your observations down in fanshot form. (Right? Right.)
Hugh Freeze - Strengthening the moral fiber of a football team; making them better at football if he gets around to it.
Drug Rules - Being silly and draconian.
College Athletes - Despite awareness of the draconian silliness of these drug rules, continuing to violate them.
Tyrann Mathieu - Calling up Nick Brassell for a rousing afternoon session of Madden and Cheetos. Being a bad influence on Jamal Mosely.
Auburn - Being Auburn. Probably getting away with it.
Randy Travis - Balling so, so hard. Setting a good example for the kids.
D.T. Shackelford's ACL - Apparently hating his owner. Ruining everything for everyone.
The Men's Basketball Schedule - Being a bit underwhelming. Who cares though, because we're making the tournament. Right?
