This week: Lynn wins again, Smith still playing like an All-Star, Cozart still playing solidly, and Coghlan sent back down.
Lance Lynn- Lance moved to a MLB leading 10 wins this past week (Unfortunately he wasn't the first to make it to 10 since R.A. Dickey plays in the Eastern time zone and beat Lynn to 10 wins by an hour or so). Lynn is leading a very experienced Cardinals team in Ks, WHIP, and Wins. He is 10-2 with a 2.42 ERA and a 1.09 WHIP, both of which are top 10 in the NL. He has also struck out 87 in 81.2 IP. This past week Lynn pitched 7.1 innings allowing 3 hits and struck out 12.
Seth Smith- Seth continues to swing a hot bat for the A's. Seth went 6 of 18 (.333) over the past week with 2 HRs and 5 RBIs. He also had 3 BBs to go along with 4 Ks. Seth is now hitting .267 with 7 HRs and 22 RBIs. He has a current OBP of .381.Zack Cozart- Zack is also swinging a hot bat going 9 of 20 (.450) the past week with 4 Runs scored and 0 RBIs. He has raised his batting average almost 20 points over the past week to .264. He has 7 HRs with 15 RBIs on the season. Pretty solid leadoff hitter.
Alex Presley- Alex struggled a little at the plate this past week going 5 of 29 (.172); however, he did have 2 HRs(back to back games) with 3 RBIs. Alex's average dropped to .224 and he has 5 HRs with 12 RBIs and 6 stolen bases on the year.
Chris Coghlan- He was sent back to the minors for the 3rd time this season. He was only hitting .140 with 1 HR and 10 RBIs. Unless something drastic happens, in my opinion, you won't be seeing Coghlan in a Marlins uniform anytime soon and maybe not at all this season.
Pomeranz update- He is struggling pretty badly for AAA Colorado Springs over his past two starts. Over his past two starts, he has allowed 12 runs (6 being earned runs though) but has allowed 16 hits and 6 BBs to only 5 Ks.
