Here's a look at how the Rebels match up with the McNeese State Cowboys using the Four Factors. (National Rank in parentheses)
| Ole Miss O | McN D | McN O | Ole Miss D | ||
| eFG% | 51.9% (84) | 54.6% (303) | 35.0% (342) | 39.2% (21) | |
| TO% | 15.8% (29) | 23.0% (105) | 21.5% (182) | 26.5% (33) | |
| OR% | 41.5% (37) | 39.1% (292) | 26.6% (285) | 35.3% (232) | |
| FTR | 44.0 (82) | 28.4 (75) | 29.1 (270) | 33.0 (118) |
The McNeese State Cowboys struggle to score. That's the nicest thing you can say about it. They've played 3 games this year and have yet to score more than 54 points in a single game. The Rebels scored that in the second half alone against Coastal Carolina. McNeese lost by 25 points to a mediocre LSU team earlier this month. The Cowboys' eFG% of 35.0% is almost as impressively bad as Marshall Henderson's 68.3% eFG % is unbelievably good.
Defensively though, the Cowboys aren't much better. They force a decent amount of turnovers - 23% of opponents' possessions - but the Rebels have been one of the best in the country so far this year in protecting the ball. The Rebels will have a field day tonight shooting as McNeese doesn't crack the top 300 in the country in defensive eFG%. While the Rebels likely won't get to the FT line as much tonight as they did the other night,
It should be a good night rebounding the ball as well, which the Rebels need. They've given up far too many offensive rebounds - 35.3% of opponents' missed shots - and tonight is a real opportunity to start to get that number back where it should be.
Predictions:
Ole Miss 85 McNeese State 44
* McNeese doesn't break 40 until the final minute when scrubs are in
* Murphy Holloway finishes the night with 16 points, 14 rebounds in 20 minutes of play
* Marshall Henderson continues his hot streak, dropping in 24 points with 6 3s
* One of the freshmen - Perez, perhaps? - breaks through with a big game
* McNeese State attempts less than 10 FTs
