The Chanticleers have a great backcourt that can really shoot the ball. Anthony Raffa averaged 16.7 ppg last year and opened with 27 in CCU’s win against Akron to open the season. Backcourt mates Greenwood and Gillis chipped in 19 and 10 points respectively. The rest of the team combined for just 18 points though, including a paltry 4 points off the bench. The Rebels got 39 points off the bench.

Where the Rebels have a… wait for it… sizable advantage is the frontcourt, as evidenced by the rebound numbers above. The Rebels should have their way down low on the glass and getting to the FT line. The Rebels also did a much better job taking care of the ball than CCU did in their opener.

This one won’t be the cakewalk that MVSU was. CCU is a good team that won 19 games last year. They've got the capability to score from the outside if the Rebs get lazy on defense. The Rebels have plenty to improve from last game. They will need shoot to the ball better than they did last game. Some one other than Henderson will need to step up and hit a jump shot. Millinghaus will need to calm the hell down. They'll need to rebound better on the defensive end for 40 minutes.

I expect the Rebs to pound the ball in down low to Buckner and Holloway early and often, working the offense from the inside out. Henderson should get good looks at 3 tonight as the double teams come down low. This is the type of game where Demarco Cox could really flourish were he healthy enough to play.
