Channing Ward to Commit to Somebody During Tonight's UA All-American Game
The number one prospect in the state of Mississippi per many recruiting services is set to recruit to Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Auburn or Alabama during tonight's UnderArmor All-America game, which is set to air at 6:30 PM central on ESPN. Channing Ward, a defensive end out of Aberdeen, is rated as a four-star prospect by Rivals.com and a five-star prospect by Scout. He is considered by both services to be a top-100 overall player and a top-10 player at his position.
Ward is one of many elite defensive line prospects to come out of Mississippi this year, but he is the consensus favorite amongst those who follow these sorts of things due to his size (6'4", 260lb), athleticism, and success as a pass rusher. He notched twenty sacks this past season for an Aberdeen High School defense which went deep into the MHSAA 3A playoffs.
We at the Cup are fairly confident that Ward will end up committing to Ole Miss, but aren't certain enough to call him a "lock" or any other sort of goofy recruiting lingo at this point. Mississippi State and, lately, Alabama are still in the picture. If he is to choose and sign with the Rebels, he will easily be the most heralded recruit of Hugh Freeze's first class at Ole Miss.

OUTRAGEOUS!
I mean, considering the size of his current living quarters, that’d be well over $1,500 per square foot! A bookfarmer he is not!
Hope we get him
Maybe Judon will walk on football team, he and 3 others were cut from baseball team.

Fairly sure it'll be a bottle nose dolphin
but how many will he get?
One more than Tobias Singleton
and one less than C.J. Johnson.

Truly great to see a fine young beastly specimen pledge his allegiance to OleMiss!
Isaac Gross has been playing fairly well also! Seems to be gettin good penetration! Just like the boner Mullen is removing from his ass! Thanks Channing ;)

Isaac Gross
Has been impressive with his quickness off the ball. It is noticeably quicker than the other DL dudes.

Gross looked impressive IMO..
Both Gross and Channing notched great sacks separately, TFL’s, tackles, QB pressure, and a blocked PA at the end! Bright futures for these guys no doubt..

Maybe this will get Quay Evans to come back to the rebels. We still need a QB and some lineman.

Several interesting tweets from Kentrell Lockett tonight after the Ward committment:
“I can’t tell #rebelnation too much but just keep your eyes and eyes open!!!!”
“Channing Ward is only the beginning there’s more BIG TIMERS to commit!!! Oops I think I said to much!!!”
“#rebelnation is so eager for this news… But y’all got to wait though!!!
I’m not a twitter expert, but I believe he is indicating that he knows something that we don’t.

Oh boy
I sure hope he’s talking about a certain QB who may or may not be from Petal and may be declaring at the Army game this weekend and may also be an even better baseball player (already gave up on the other sports, sue me).

Via Yancy Porter on twitter:
“QB Anthony Alford now says he will not announce at Army game. And around and around we go.”
Brad Logan retweeted it and said he thinks it could be a sign that USM may be in trouble. I really didn’t want to get my hopes up about this.

The series after he committed,
Ward got a sack. That in itself is great, but then something amazing happened…
He threw up the landshark. Hotty Toddy indeed.

Then Gross got one later
He threw it up.
I’d be lying to say I didn’t shriek like Jerry Clower from excitement when I saw it.
ward looked great out there
he was making plays all night and even when he wasn’t, he was almost certainly there at the ball. and lord it looks like that kid can lay a lick.
