If AK can't get it done
Seems like with a new AD on the horizon, if Kennedy gets continuously outcoached (like he did Thursday) and doesn't make the tournament, he's living on borrowed time. If he is, do you think we try to hire a big name assistant or a mid-major coach to take over and what do you think the school would be willing to do. Me personally, if it wasn't a lateral at best move, would love to see us hire Dana Altman, who's at Oregon now. As far as realistic options, I would like to see us make a play for Gregg Marshall. Used have Winthrop beating the fire out of people and is now doing well at Wichita State. We need someone who has set themselves apart at a lower level (like Anthony Grant VCU to Bama) instead of an assistant who seems to be a hot commodity (like the John Pelphrey Experiment at Arkansas) in my opinion. But if we do end up getting rid of AK sooner rather than later, who would you like to see take over the program.

Of the guys you mentioned
Gregg Marshall would be at the top of my list- though I doubt his ability to recruit at an SEC-level. I don’t even know who’s out there right now, and I don’t think AK will be going anywhere at the end of this season, so it’s kind of a moot point.
I’m not a big Altman fan. I too would prefer to see us hire someone with head-coaching experience, even if just at the mid-tier level.
Unless we lose out, AK won't be fired this year.
I just don’t see how we could justify that at this point and put ourselves in a position to hire a commodity coach. I do say, though, the Marshall selection is spot on as to the kind of a coach I want.

Somehow, there are people who (somehow) believe we jumped the gun on Nutt.
There’s no way we fire AK. If we already have unrealistic expectations, that would put us in our own league of expectations. Above-average mediocrity is, after all, what we want to see from football for right now. What kind of message would we be sending the players AND staff if we aren’t satisfied with the above-average mediocrity we already have?

Couple of points....
1. I’m far from an AK defender, but I don’t think he got outcoached. We were in position to make shots, and didn’t. We missed layups and dunks that we were making in the first half. That’s not coaching… it’s execution.
2. Even if you think he did get outcoached… it’s Billy Donovan. He’s one of the best coaches in the country. That’s like Lionel Hollins saying he got outcoached by Greg Popovich.
Biggest reason I say outcoached
was I watched us play a helluva game on both ends of the floor in the first half. Sure, we weren’t hitting shots in the second half, but I saw Andy Kennedy stay in the zone against 3 and 4 guard looks and letting Florida get wide open looks. If we stay in the zone, I say we win that game. And I know that Billy D is a fantastic coach, loved that guy ever since his days in Huntington and his two years for the Herd.
The thing that helps Kennedy is that, even though we are wanting our new arena, we are in such bad need, he doesn’t have a tremendous amount of pressure to warrant the new building.
