I have scratched LSU...I called LSU today and told them they were out

Per MrSEC.com, Lafayette County High School Quarterback Jeremy Liggins has whittled his choices to Mississippi State and Ole Miss. This is a good, good sign, in our view.

I hope hope hope

Freeze is shooting straight with this guy. No promises to be the starter.

The name “Raymond Cotton” keeps popping in my head every time I look at this guy and think about what’s currently in the stable at QB.

Maybe I’m just being pessimistic.

This is the best part of the article

It would appear Liggins wants to help Ole Miss win that championship. He told 247Sports during his visit to LSU last weekend he was promoting Ole Miss to junior college wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson.

"I was kind of in his ear about Ole Miss," Liggins said. "The Ole Miss coaches asked me to keep an eye on him. I did."

Is it ok

That this made me giggle. Nothing makes my heart happier than a big time

Is anyone worried

about him saying yes to the team down south. Cause we’ve got alot of QB’s already and they don’t, just a big running back playing QB and he would be able to start there easier than with us. Just saying, I’d see him playing a few roles for us, just not QB, maybe a LB or wild rebel RB/QB in certain situations, hell he’s big enough to play DT

Yes.

But I still believe he could be our starting QB and Coach Freeze will give him every opportunity to win the gig. And MSU will look to Prescott, a redshirt freshman, who has a year in their system. I don’t know much about Prescott, but from my limited understanding he might as well be Relf 1.1. So I don’t think Liggins should expect to play down there any earlier than at Ole Miss. With his tools, Liggins could thrive in Coach Freeze’s offense. In large part, it would be up to Liggins to determine how well he will play QB wherever he ends up. Still, I don’t think he will necessarily find it easier to start at MSU as opposed to Ole Miss simply because we have more QB’s on the roster. Mackey and Stoudt will be seniors. Brunetti will be a junior. There could be competition with Wallace, but Liggins doesn’t seem like the kind of guy who is afraid of competition and whatever competition there is, Wallace will graduate from Ole Miss before Prescott leaves MSU.

After all I've heard about Liggins in the last month or so

I think he’s a Rebel without question. Being spotted all over town in Rebel garb, openly recruiting for us at LSU, attending basketball games in Rebel gear with two other OM recruits, announcing his decision on the Oxford square….all signs point to the Rebels.

I agree.

It is a perfect setup for an epic slap in the face. I’m not saying Liggins will do that, though. I’m just saying that M. Knight Shyamalaomanananaam would kill to be able to set up a twist like that.

except that the m. night shamalamadingdong version of the story

would end with liggins tearing off his human face to reveal that he’s a mutant bulldog monster sent from the future to enslave all oxonians to work on supreme viceroy mullen’s space farms on planet starkvilltron 6
