The key to Dayton's victory was the absence of Murphy Holloway. The Rebels were bettered 43-33 on the boards, allowing Dayton to build a substantial lead and easily control the momentum and notch a victory.

SMU is an 8-5 CUSA team. The Rebels really have to win this if they're to carry any momentum into SEC play. Even if they do win against SMU - something we should expect - I have a difficult time seing this team earning any fewer than twelve losses on the year.

Unfortunately for Dayton, after cruising past our haphazard basketballers on Friday night, they learned that Josh Benson, who is arguably their best player, tore his ACL. We're sorry, Dayton. We don't mean to do these things.
