What's that Chuck? You think OM fans need to stop bitching about Walker Jones being rumored as the next AD??? My internet hero issues a retort.
What follows is a post by one of the most prolific smart-asses in the webosphere. He perfectly captures my feelings about Chucks condescending, arrogant and contemptuous tongue lashing issued to members of his website who had the audacity to express feelings of concern, contention and disgust over what will be one of the most retarded, jaw dropping, SAME OL SAME OL personnel decisions OM could possibly make. Rock on you glorious, word smithing, snarkopus. Rock the hell on.
Chucks statement is listed in bold and the response in regular type...

There seems to be a lot of information about the next athletic director out there that, from my viewpoint, is entirely premature. Really Chuck? Why is it premature? Because Ole Miss has such a great track record of great hires and awesome decisions that our fan base should not overreact to rumors? Fuck you. There have been no interviews done. The selection committee, other than Archie Manning and Mike Glenn, has not even been selected. A new job description has not even been written, from what I was told just yesterday. There have been no meetings between Chancellor Dan Jones and AM/MG and the to-be-named committee. So let me get this straight--we still haven't put together a "selection committee" outside of Archie and Glenn? Any idea what they're waiting for here? And we haven't even written a new job description? What the fuck has everyone been doing? And you say "from what I was told yesterday"--let's tuck that bit of info away for a moment, but we'll get back to that. And no shit? There haven't been any meetings between Dan Jones, AM/MG and a non-existent group of people that don't matter anyway? Well fuck me. If you have a problem with the time frame that it is taking, you have a legitimate beef, in my humble opinion, but I think it's a travesty for people to come on here and declare that Walker Jones has already been named the new AD and then the meat market proceeds to tear him down. Lots to talk about in this paragraph. First off, thank you for granting me permission to have "legitimate beef" with the fact that our process of firing and hiring ADs is a complete shit show. I appreciate your generosity in this regard. However, I disagree with your definition of a "travesty" here. Travesty is defined as "a farcical or grotesque imitation; mockery; parody." Is it a mockery to attack the possibility of Walker being named AD? Actually, the farcical or grotesque imitation is our parody of a real school's coaching and AD search. So fuck you. Also, I have a problem with your use of the term "meat market" in this context. Meat market is defined as "1. A market where meat is sold. 2. Slang An establishment, such as a nightclub, where one looks for a sexual partner." So in this instance, are you saying that the Spirit posters are butchers? Or perhaps the Spirit Board is an online establishment where like-minded Spirit posters can find sexual partners? (Note: this may actually be the case). In either scenario, I think you meant to say "peanut gallery" but you're either too stupid to know the term or you want to insult the Spirit posters but not enough so that they actually get that you're calling them stupid. Fuck you regardless. From my viewpoint, it is a pity and a shame that Walker is being subjected to this kind of treatment. I'm actually going to have to break shit up some, because there's too much retarded jibberish here to take at once. First--fucking WOW. What sort of treatment makes this a "pity and a shame" man? That anonymous internet posters are saying that Walker's a fucking moron? That we shouldn't have hired someone with little SEC AD experience? That he wouldn't be hired anywhere else? But that's nothing compared to this: Walker Jones played, and started, on a probation-strapped football team that basically helped bring our program out of oblivion. He graduated in four years and then worked as a GA in the football program and worked himself up the ladder in athletic administration at Ole Miss. Now, he is an executive in a billion dollar corporation. He is a success story, an Ole Miss success story. Holy SHIT! He played AND STARTED for our football team? So did Eddie Strong, but that stupid fucker isn't qualified to run a remote control car, much less an athletic department. Oh but wait! Walker was on a team that was probation-strapped and he helped bring our football team out of "oblivian"!!1!!!1! Did Walker turn down Tennessee to play for us? Did that cunt bag lead us to a National Championship? Fuck him. Yeah, he worked his way up the AD ladder, and worked for Telesouth and under Boone. Fucking STELLAR resume. Oh, what's that? He is an exec in a billion dollar corporation? He took over at UA in 2008...and they were already well on their way to being a billion dollar company. Their growth didn't have shit to do with Walker Jones. But you know what? Maybe you're right, he's an Ole Miss success story alright. He's managed to parlay a playing career into a job in our awesome athletic department, and then get a job with Telesouth as they ass rape us, and then use an Ole Miss connection to get a plush job with a Billion dollar corporation...and now he'll get a retirement gig back at Ole Miss. That screams Ole Miss success story if I ever heard one. He is one of many examples of what we want our student/athletes to be. A guy who went to class, got his degree, played his butt off and is a success in life after college, yet he is being vilified on this board. Amazing. How do you know how much class he went to, Chuck? You know who else went to class, got a degree, played his butt off, and is a success in life after college? Michael Oher. But since he doesn't say "Ole Miss" on every SNF intro, he's dead to half of the Spirit Board. He's also not qualified to be our AD. Imagine what it looks like to outsiders reading the disdain our own fans have for someone successful who is one of our own. So how many outsiders are reading the Spirit Board? And who really gives a shit what these "outsiders" think? Fuck them, Pony Boy. Imagine what recruits think. Are they reading the Spirit Board to see what message board posters are saying about a possible AD? Can any recruit name the AD at ANY school they're considering? Has "Athletic Director Popularity" ever been a deciding factor in a recruiting choice? Or are you using this as a vague threat to quiet the stupid bastards who dare question Archie? Imagine how his friends and family feel. I would bet his friends feel pretty good, as they'll be set up with tickets for life. As for his family, are they reading the Spirit Board too? If so, tell them to fucking quit it. Criticism, whether or not its deserved, is part of being in the public eye. His family will be fine, especially once they're wrapped in that Oxford GOB cocoon, insulated from harsh words by the ass kissers wanting to get on the payroll. Imagine yourself in the same position. What, being paid an ass load of money to run marketing for an athletic gear company? OK. Wow, this is fucking awesome. I'm rich as shit. Oh, you mean getting criticized for possibly getting a job despite the fact that I'm in no way qualified? Let me try that...yeah, that sucks. But what's that next part? I'm now the AD at Ole Miss, getting paid a shit load of money still, and I have a job where the bar is set so low that any improvement can be met with a raise and any failures can be blamed on the guy before me? Fucking sign me up, hoss! Fuck you, Chuck. From what little I know, Walker is a candidate for the job, but he has made no public statements about it and is not campaigning for the post. Until something more solid than speculation is available, I think it's only decent to stop the witch hunt. Wait a minute, earlier you said you were talking to people yesterday? In fact, you said that yesterday someone told you all about the committee, and even the writing of a job description, but now you don't know shit else? And wait a fucking minute...you want us to wait until something more solid than speculation is available? Since when? This whole bullshit website of yours is based and run on speculation. Also, I seem to remember outcry to speculation stopping at least one bullshit Powetron deal. Taking that and our recent history with hires and moves into consideration, how can you blame fans for being upset with said speculation? Also, fuck you for calling this a "witch hunt." This is as much of a witch hunt as Archie and Mike performed a "coach hunt" or we're currently running an "AD hunt." Don't insult me you fucking puppet. Man, fuck all of this. |

A warrior for truth and sanity in OM sports.
A glorious, shinning example of what could be if we all stopped biting our collective tongues and started speaking out, angrily if necessary, when OM administration repeatedly does things that defy logic, tear the very fabric of reason and consistently end with OM being viewed as the laughing stock of collegiate sports.
My internet hero. He’s the hero Oxford deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So we’ll vilify him, because he can take it. Because he’s not our hero. He’s a vocal guardian, a watchful protector. A Snark Knight.

The misuse of "meat-market" bothers me the most.
How do people who don’t understand cliche metaphors get payin’ gigs writing about anything?
That’s up there with Yancy’s “ironed in concrete”. And if memory serves me, wasn’t that the impetus for the original Red [Redacted] Cup? (Well, that and lots of alcohol I’m sure.)
Catch it in ur mouth like ur last name Moss...
It was on up there.
These guys have connections. That’s it. That’s their only qualification to do the jobs they do.
Granted, their connections get them in the door with regards to interviewing coaches, players, recruits, and so forth, but the point still stands that there are people who make a better-than-decent living writing half-coherent drivel about Ole Miss sports.

Damn, I'd cut off one of the birds from my arm's bush with two other hands for that chance.
