I didn't manage to stay for the whole practice; I left early to come home to watch the Capital Campaign. However, I did get to see some early on 7 on 7 drills and individual drills.
Barry Brunetti- At times, had a very tight spiral and completed most passes. To my count, he overthrew two different tight ends on a seam route.
Mackey- Started off pretty good, threw a perfect pass of a flea flicker; however, Vince Sanders dropped the pass. Then on two consecutive passes he threw the ball right into the ground with a TE running a simple flat.
Stoudt- Unless i missed something, Stoudt completed every pass he threw (excluding drops). His passes hit the numbers almost every time.
Jamal Mosely at tight end seems to be an animal. He is extremely quick on his feet and I didn't see him drop a single pass.
The only other drill i got to watch was DBs and Safetys.
Nick Brassel and Golson are extremely fast. They were both flying all over the place and if they did something wrong, it was only once; they corrected it on the next play.
Outside of Damien Jackson, the safteys looked slighty questionable. Didn't seem like their heads were in it but hey, it was extremely hot and first day in full pads.
The thing that impressed me the most was DT Shakleford. He was in the middle of all the defensive drills, not only encouraging but letting the other defensive players know when they messed up.
Based on this point last year, i see lots of improvement and think this season is gonna be a good season.
