Rebel Roundup - December 19, 2011

Rebel Hoops, Freeze Invade Southaven Wednesday | OleMissSports.com
[REFERENCE TO MR. FREEZE AND SOUTHAVEN'S WEDNESDAY WEATHER FORECAST REDACTED]. Memphis-area Rebels, be there. Thanks.

Kendrick Lewis savors climb to NFL success | SportsNOLA.com
A lot of Rebels are having great NFL seasons right now. Most notable amongst them are Patrick Willis, Mike Wallace, and Eli Manning; but other former Rebels such as Kendrick Lewis, Dexter McCluster, Michael Oher, and BenJarvus Green-Ellis are doing work as well.

Season report card: Ole Miss | SEC Blog - ESPN
We got a "B", a "D", and two "F's" which really isn't all that different from half of the freshman class' first semester report card.

Ole Miss Rebels vs. Southern Miss Golden Eagles | ESPN
I was legitimately upset once this game ended. The Rebels had numerous chances to put the Eagles away and just couldn't, giving Larry Eustachy's squad opportunity after opportunity to control the game. The only positive I can get out of this loss is that I am able to feel Ole Miss athletics again. My lethargy and aloofness, brought about by the most atrocious football season in our lifetimes, is slowly fading.

SEC Basketball: Surprises and Disappointments So Far | A Sea Of Blue
SBNation's resident Kentucky blog looks at the SEC thus far and concludes that, with a couple of weeks remaining until SEC play begins, our Ole Miss Roundball Rebels are basically the team we all thought they'd be. Athletic and upper-middle-tier in the SEC, but still prone to frustrating moments and losses.

Bobby Khayat is in the hospital, not doing well at all, and supposedly they’ve called in the family, so keep the Khayats in your prayers this Christmas.

Also,

Anthony Alford set his final visits to schools. Ole Miss is his last stop on Jan. 20th. I think we have a pretty good pitch for him as the QB of the future.

FYI...

Ole Miss Baseball failed to even make the top 40 preseason rankings following the No. 3 recruiting class in the country, although a 30-25 record last year.

Hopefully this is the year Bianco gives Ole Miss something to be proud of again.
