I don't think he meant anything by it.
I’m not saying Smart controls Bama’s D completely. He doesn’t. But the theories I’m seeing from some corners of the Ole Miss community that Saban assistants don’t do anything meaningful are just ludicrous, and I think you’re falling into that trap. Saban’s been singing Smart’s praises. They obviously like having him around (they paid top dollar to keep him from going to his alma mater). From all indications, he’s an integral part of the team’s success.

Saban paid a visit
to the burg of Tucker, GA on Tuesday of this week; in particular Tucker High School. The lady I work with has a daughter in the Tucker Band that just happened to be wearing Bama colors that day, and Nick asked her (in the hallway) who did she steal that swag from.
Seems he was there to see a particular senior football player, and someone did not call ahead to announce Lord Saban’s pending arrival.
