Around SBN: Jerry Sandusky's Wife Tries To Run A Reporter Over

This is the trial and tribulations of being a football fan

anywhere, but especially at Ole Miss.  They will take you to supreme heights and disheartening lows.  Sports and life are enter twined.  There are days in our life where nothing goes our way.  Then there are days when things just seem to fall into place.

It is important to remain focused and consistent in our daily lives and our lives as Ole Miss supporters.

We should never take anything for granted and we should cheer no matter the score. (those who  leave early should be ashamed)

Unfortunately we received what we deserved for our efforts yesterday.  The coaches took their foot off the gas and fans left early to get their party face on.  Keep your game face on until the bitter end.

I hold the coaching staff responsible for yesterdays debacle.  They are ultimately the parties responsible for maintaining the level of intensity of the players and the decision to play zone on almost every play in the second half. (I watched the replay and we played not to lose on defense the second half)  That's the coaches fault, whoever made the ultimate decision to not pressure and play man cost us the game.

Nathan Stanley had one bad play, he deserves to start.  Masoli deserves some playing time, but the offense was far more effective with Stanley.

The coaching staff needs to own up to costing the team this game, no doubt.

Rebel fans need to cheer through the good times and the bad.

This is what it is to be a Ole Miss fan if you can handle it, you can't handle life.

Get accustom to it or find somewhere else to place your loyalties.

By the way, as bad as the loss was yesterday it pails in comparison to the pure joy of beating Florida.

This is why if you can beat someone 63-0 you do it.  You beat on them until they pull their first string, you never give a lesser opponent an opportunity to stay in a game.

You put your hand around their throat and you don't let go until they say "uncle" or they pass out.  Any respectable coach will understand that.  if you are still trying, we will continue to play also.

This is obviously a flaw in HDN's coaching personality.  To hell with sportsmanship, beat them as bad as you can until they put in their subs.

You don't attempt to let the opponent leave with a good feeling about themselves.  You want them to leave with the feeling that they played a far superior team and they need to work harder in order to be competitive.

The only way HDN recovers from this loss is to go 8-4 this season and put 50 on every team they possibly can.

If not then we need to look for another coach that will coach to win championships.

If that is what we are expecting as OM fans.

I agree

I love Houston Nutt…but if he goes Cutcliffe Conservative on us again, I will shift my loyalty on him. I want the foot on the throat of the opponent until the last second ticks off and we are leaving the field. I understand his viewpoint on sportsmanship, but this “SHOULD” be a lesson learned for even a seasoned coach of his talents.
I want to tell him to his face that calling the dogs off DOES NOT WORK. Call them off in the 4th quarter when we are up by 45 points. Not a moment sooner!

Hope he gets his revenge by pulling off a miracle of destroying Alabama, MSU, LSU and Arkansas.
I will gladly lose every game this year if he will beat those 4 on national TV

Supreme heights?

I suppose it’s all relative, but I’ve followed Ole Miss sports since ‘97 and the closest thing to a “supreme height” I’ve experienced was Travis Johnson’s pick six against LSU in ’03. And we all know how that ended.

I agree with most of your post

What if he goes 8-4 and all 8 games are close?

What has happened to the Messiah?

How can this be? An experienced soldier of the SEC coaching ranks, taken down by the lowly scavengers of the football world as we know it.
Can it be a miracle?

 Ahhhhh….. life is good.

How can it possibly be good

you still wake up every day in Arkansas. The only thing worse would be if you woke up in stankville.

And as bad as he is.........

He still manages to beat the nuttless hogs the last two seasons. Although he almost gave the first one back by taking his foot off the throttle.

Never give an underdog the idea they can compete.

Up by 4 scores in the fourth before sending in the subs, always.
