Nathan Stanley Transferring

according to a source inside the athletic trainers dept. Houston Nutt and co-offensive coordinator Mike Markuson was overheard discussing the transfer of Nathan Stanley at practice yesterday.

I would think that his transfer would be because of playing time and the opportunity to start elsewhere. With Masoli at the helms, the only QB time Stanley would see is if Masoli got hurt or we blew an opponent out. Since Masoli has little history with injuries and we're unlikely to be good enough to blow someone out, Stanley figured he wouldn't play much the rest of the season.

Not only that, before this news broke, 3rd stringer Randall Mackey has been sitting out his redshirt year. Meaning that after Masoli had exhausted his elgibility, Stanley and Mackey would both be redshirt Juniors and Houston has continually praised Mackey as having the best arm and throwing motion of all the QB's and combined with his 4.5 speed, Stanley could've viewed his playing time at Ole Miss as being very limited period.
