Yeah, yall need to make that cracksquad blogger for Jax State a guest tonight...

My season starts early.

Being a Southern Miss grad as well, my favorite C-USA team plays the other Gamecocks tomorrow night (sorry, USM is one of my exceptions on the “root for the SEC 24/7” meme), Starting at 6:30 the world can leave me the fuck alone with my pizza, my wine and my football.

Starting OL may be off the team

Got word of a starting OL that got panties in a wad and walked out of practice last night… Yes its prolly the one you’re thinking about.

I'll bite....

why would he do this considering he’s starting to turn things around?

by factord_agin on Sep 1, 2010 5:04 PM EDT up reply actions

No reason was given… He just left after he got mad.. Team votes on whether to keep him or let him go about his way tonight. Team probably votes to keep him, but either way its pathetic.

Since when does the cup worry about legitimizing rumors...

in all seriousness, however, others have shown knowledge of the incident on other websites, so I am indeed afraid its true

Just be glad you got a scoop on the cup before anyone else…

by BadNewsBear10 on Sep 1, 2010 5:54 PM EDT up reply actions

I'll buy.

The instant I read that, I thought, “What has Rishaw done?” If it comes down to a team vote, then I hope there’s nothing to worry about. Rishaw is pretty important to the team. We’d be in a pickle without him.

Losing Rishaw would’ve been bigger than losing Masoli! Great news to hear the team kept him around. I can’t imagine the extra running Rishaw will have to do after practice though.

“Up late watching film I will dominate Saturday I’m outworking all competition. #beatjsu”

looks to me like this guy has his shit together and is ready to be the player we need him to be. I have no clue about what happened or if anything at all happened but his team and him sound roaring and ready to go.

Question: who was that wacky old man who randomly called in last year, from Ohio I think? RCRadio needs more from that guy…

Gonzo! Go fuck yourself!

Tell me how the fuck do you get that determination about a player in the August heat that gets upset about Powe busting his head in and decides to exit practice. Please tell me how the fuck does that make a team leaderless and unorganized? Yes, If Oleforty was there I don’t think this would’ve happen, thats the only way you can get leaderless out of that shit. The team is going to vote most likely because Houston wants his ass gone, but he’s going to let the team make the final decision. That sounds like an awesome idea to me dumbass

by BadNewsBear10 on Sep 1, 2010 6:53 PM EDT reply actions

Petrino wouldn't need a team vote.

As a matter of fact, a situation like this doesn’t even occur at one of Petrino’s practices. They know better.

by GonzoHog on Sep 1, 2010 7:24 PM EDT reply actions

You're probably right.

If I was a 22-year-old man with 315 pounds on my shoulders, I imagine that I, too, would be overpowered at a deep emotional level by the gravitas (or, perhaps, the immovable resolve) of Bobby Petrino. Though not exceptionally tall in stature, Bobby Petrino’s body of work is a testament to his (as the Duke called it) true grit.

It's called respect.

I seriously doubt there’s a lot of that demanded in Oxford these days.

by GonzoHog on Sep 1, 2010 7:58 PM EDT up reply actions

How can you blindly expect that a man, publicly eviscerated for his lack of commitment to his professional team and labeled by his former charges as a "coward," commands respect?

I know what it’s called. And I don’t know whether Houston commands it or not. But I know any sensible person wouldn’t give it to Bobby Petrino.

Any sensible person would consider the source.

You guys are experts on conspiracy theories aren’t you?

Arthur Blank = Pissed off
Big mouthed, egotistical, cry baby players = A lot of crying on ESPN
Home Depot = ESPN = Owner (Arthur Blank)

For a bunch of educated lawyer socialites, you sure talk like a bunch of uneducated ass wipes.

by GonzoHog on Sep 2, 2010 7:16 PM EDT up reply actions

Jesus...

So you don’t think that Arthur Blank had a reason to be pissed off at Bobby Petrino and, therefore, disrespectful towards him? Don’t overthink things. If people aren’t generally respected, there’s typically a good reason for that.

by The Ghost of Jay Cutler on Sep 3, 2010 10:07 AM EDT up reply actions

Respect? Seriously?

Petrino left the Falcons 3/4 of the way through the season, with a 3-10 record. He ditched the day after a humiliating blow-out loss to the Saints on Monday Night Football, during which the Falcon’s owner sat in the broadcast booth and stated that Petrino had promised him that he wouldn’t leave. Then, if I recall correctly, he leaves the team without even having the balls to tell them to their faces. And despite his insistence that he hadn’t been speaking to the Razorbacks while he was the Falcon’s coach, he accepts the AR job within hours of leaving Atlanta.

But yea you’re right Gonzo, if anybody deserves respect, its Bobby Petrino

by Catfish Powe-boy on Sep 1, 2010 11:02 PM EDT up reply actions

That's right, he does.

Asked a few members of your team just how much respect they have for him after his newly built team from the ground up kicks their collective asses all over Reynolds Razorback Stadium.

by GonzoHog on Sep 2, 2010 7:20 PM EDT up reply actions

Yes because yall will not be using any of CHN's recruits at all.

And if y’all do end up beating us I will have respect for the team not the head coach, they deserve it not him.

by Jalakin on Sep 2, 2010 11:00 PM EDT up reply actions

Bullshit this happens at every fuckin’ team in the nation. Even the pros. Have you caught Hardknocks on HBO with the New York Jets? This shit happens almost every damn episode. Normally it doesn’t make a fuck but with Rishaw he’s been in trouble before with the coaches so its a little different case. Also, he was at practice today. So fuck you!

by BadNewsBear10 on Sep 1, 2010 7:31 PM EDT up reply actions

Well you heard it here folks. Petrino is going to win the National Championship! Right after he starts the season 2-4 this year. Then he’ll jump ship and get on a team that he can recruit to and finally stay somewhere long enough to win one, righttttt. Do you know any good lottery numbers while you’re so confident in your bullshit? The bad thing is you know you’re full of shit. The only thing you’re missing at the end of your post is a “haha lulz” because God knows you have to be laughing while you type that garbage.

Could I get a no bs and no WAOM assessment of the likely hood of the appeal?

by hottytoddy07 on Sep 1, 2010 8:50 PM EDT reply actions

also could Chip Kelly play any factor in this?

by hottytoddy07 on Sep 1, 2010 8:52 PM EDT up reply actions

My feeling is about 10-20%

I would have given us a better chance if the appeal was not being done via phone. I think sighting other very similar cases gives a slight chance at success, but it is also my understanding that the NCAA rarely grants appeals. The NCAA seems to be really looking to make a precedent out of Masoli’s case which is not a good sign for us.

by Jalakin on Sep 1, 2010 9:37 PM EDT up reply actions

That is what I'm afraid of....

That they decide to use this to make an example of Masoli.

by hottytoddy07 on Sep 1, 2010 9:41 PM EDT up reply actions

And when the NCAA meets next year

they will most definitely close the loophole, or at least put some clause in there addressing players who are suspended or expelled from their previous teams, regardless of their standing with the provost’s office. And they’ll call it the Masoli rule, just watch.

Yes, I live in Starkville...WHO did I piss off in a past life?

by Queen Hoka-Hotty-Toddy on Sep 1, 2010 10:04 PM EDT up reply actions

I give it 5%

Are we even able to present that evidence? From what I’ve heard we may not. And they definitely denied us the right to have a representative during the teleconference (yea this is being decided in a fucking teleconference). So no evidence, no chance to argue our case. The way I see it, theyre just setting up a no-win situation for us. They’ll prolly all get on the phone, catch up on how everybody’s kids are doing, an then send us an email that says “Fuck off.”

One question about rcradio

Why talkshoe over skype?

Repping Ole Miss in 34 countries since 1996

by usav3t on Sep 1, 2010 10:07 PM EDT reply actions

Talkshoe is fairly easy to use and has a chat feature.

I use skype for one on one, but I wasn’t aware one could record podcasts with it.

by The Ghost of Jay Cutler on Sep 2, 2010 8:37 AM EDT up reply actions

I see

skype doesnt have a native recording feature but there are a few free thirdparty programs that do an excellent job. Plus you can now record video with the new skype but thats here nor there. Talkshoe is a good little program I was just curious.

If you are thinking of another way to do the show

try this with skype http://voipcallrecording.com/
works very well. also if you want to do video podcasts im sure youve heard of some of the more popular free desktop screen recorders. esoft, handiicam, manicam, hypercam, to name a few. Youd just have to rezize the window to cover the skype window and bam instant production studio lol.

A few things...

Having Masoli next year may actually better for us & him. There will plenty of Qbs in the draft this year, next year would be better for him to enter the draft to get drafted higher.
The offensive line will have more depth next year and will be the strength of the team. With the losses on the defensive line, we will need to be able to score points.
Bama, hogs, & state will all start new qb’s next year.

This year will still be a good year, we have a great defense, with Masoli running the scout team,it will make them even better for teams like auburn, ky, & state.
Just gotta have a little faith, we have a great coaching staff on both sides of the ball.

by hotstove97 on Sep 2, 2010 12:39 AM EDT reply actions

Not trying to a pessimist, but.....

That assumes that he decides to stay. Sure staying is the smart route, and I think there’s a good chance he will, but you never know. And from what I’ve read a lot of the mainstream media are predicting that he leaves.

by Catfish Powe-boy on Sep 2, 2010 1:28 AM EDT up reply actions

leaving would hurt him...

it makes more sense to sit out this year & play for the Rebels next year with a better O- line & come out in a draft that is not so Qb heavy. It will not help him to transfer to some Div 1 AA team.Staying will go a long way in showing NFL teams that he can stay out of trouble & has matured, also he will probably be the best QB in the SEC next year.

by hotstove97 on Sep 2, 2010 1:55 AM EDT up reply actions

agreed

theres a few angles to look at if your JMasoli.
1. education. stay get your masters – not a hard choice if you really want to get the degree or if you want to prove to the ncaa that you did switch schools for educational reasons.
2. financial. Who ever is footing the bill for ole miss would be pleased with letting that investment mature and get paid when he hits the nfl.
3. nfl. you have to think that the nfl would think more highly of him on a personal and athletic basis if he played another year. not only to mature as a person but as a player with a more polished skill set. not to mention that there are a few really really good qbs going out this year(which has already been mentioned above).
