Fan Dress Code Announced
These are the suggested colors for each home game. The university obviously wants the fans to come together and support our team as a unit, but will it work?

No, it won't work, because
our fan base is not only stubborn, but filled with people too “cool” to see the value in something like this. Just my $0.02.

It will work everywhere except
the student section

So...
Red unless our opponent wears a color too similar (shades of red, orange).
Ghost is definitely right. Our fan base in general is too stubborn/cool/self-important to unify on something as simple as color. One of the many reasons our stadium is not intimidating at all.
I don't know...
If the fans all wearing the same shade of attire really makes a stadium more imposing or not, but this plan will probably work with about 4 out of every 10 Rebel fans.
We’ve got enough butts in seats to generate some noise, but the main disconnect seems to be making noise BEFORE a big play occurs rather than AFTER.
Again, I’ll probably wear white to the first game, but I doubt I’ll check the “dress code” list for future clothing decisions. Just kind of a lame attempt in my opinion.

If I predict it, there's an 50 percent chance it happens.

I'd say it's somewhat effective.

Yeah, it looks neat
But as a player, do you get intimidated by people wearing the same color? Eh, maybe, if the color is white and you have pointy hats.

Right
I’m not against the crowd wearing the same color, but, as you touched on earlier, I’d much rather have the noise factor.

It's not about the color
It’s about working together, as cliche as it sounds, to intimidate. Make noise in unison. Do chants together. I think wearing the same color is a simple move towards that. Baby steps.
I know most fanbases probably don’t have to try really hard to show spirit, but for some reason ours seems to need more prodding.
I have always wondered -
As an also-Auburn fan who usually wears blue to the Auburn-Ole Miss game due to my dual allegiance…
Why would Ole Miss suggest that fans wear blue against Auburn (especially because many Auburn fans recognize that orange isn’t the most flattering color, and choose not to make it the dominant hue on gameday)?
And what the hell was Auburn thinking with the “Navy Nightmare” against Ole Mis last season?
I'm afraid I just blue myself.

No way.
No way will any of those sorority girls be caught DEAD dressing alike. Unless you can find 5,000 different white dresses, why risk wearing the same dress as someone else? Plus bourbon and Coke + white clothing = BAD idea.
I think they’re trying to get us to do what every other school does…wear jeans and t-shirts to games. DER TAKIN R TRADISHUNS! ;-)

That's true...
… yet every other day they wear the exact same thing: Athletic shorts, huge tshirt (preferably covering the shorts), and ugg boots (if its cold).

But...
they’re different color-combos of shorts and shirts. Sometimes it’s the black and white shorts with the “Life Is Good” shirt, or the pink shorts with the Chi-O swap shirt, or the blue shorts with the Southern Belle shirt…these are important differences!!!

No it won't work.
The alumni and “other fans” for lack of better term will still mostly wear red like they always do and the students will dress as if they have no idea what our school colors actually are because they’re too busy trying to out-dress each other..
I don’t really see the issue with everyone wearing the same color. I like a mix of both red and blue in the stands personally. Ole Miss has two equal colors, let’s show it. It’d be nice if fans would wear one of those two colors though.
Yeah, it can work, but is it effective?
They do this to Ohio State all the time.

Personally
I liked the idea (when I was in school) of being part of the best dressed student section in college football, BUT, I do like the idea of fans and students wearing the same colors on gameday. Maybe if everyone wore their sunday best in the grove and then ripped off there suits ALA Hulk Hogan upon entering the stadium.

I absolutely agree
I like the way our student section is decked out in their Sunday finest. It’s part of what makes our gameday atmosphere special, and is consistently mentioned in a positive way when we are written about, whether that be in the New York Times or Sports Illustrated. Ole Miss is a unique school. Why exactly do we want to change to be like everyone else? And by this I am referring to changing our habits to dressing like other schools because that’s the lastest trend (blackouts, whiteouts, blueouts, et cetera), and not talking about mascot issues and the like (just to be clear so this doesn’t turn into a move the University forward debate).
I play for keeps.
Let's not say it'll work
Just because it works at Nebraska and Penn State. I think past history at Ole Miss proves it WON’T work. Let’s face it we just don’t have the same kind of fanbase here they have in Nebraska and Penn State.
I would rather some of our fans..
1.Get off their asses and be loud instead of sitting ( unless your 75 or older)
2. get out of the grove and fill up the Vaught no matter who we play..
I wish we had a midnight pep rally on friday nite like Texas A&M to practice organized cheers… it would be great to go to the bars, set up a tent in the grove, and then go to yell practice…
Just fill the fucking stadium and be loud.
That will be the best thing we can do for our team, whether you wear red, blue, white, or what the fuck ever. Just fill the fucking stadium and be really loud so the actually have a “home field advantage.” I dont really give a shit what you are wearing, Well, kinda. (Dont wear jorts or anything)
