PrintSomeone was asking about team recruiting rankings yesterday (I think), and I stumbled upon this on Rivals today. They list the top recruiting classes at this point, though there is a lot of time left between now and signing day in February. They have us ranked #10, ahead of such traditional recruting powers as USC and Notre Dame. We are also the fifth-highest class in the SEC, behind only Bama, LSU, Florida, and Georgia.
There is a lot of time left, and I tend to agree with the article when they say we may not stay in the top ten. However, if we could add Brassell and Singleton, I think we could easily finish in the top 15, which could potentially be our best class ever. I think Nutt's abilities as a recruiter have been underrated. The guy seems to continually put solid classes together year-after-year for us, and it will pay big dividends down the road. I think I am most excited about the possibility of having legit depth in the future- something we really have never had. We had a solid team of starters when Eli was a senior, but I remember seeing a noticeable dropoff whenever second-teamers entered the game.

Yes it is pretty exciting.
And Florida and Georgia are just barely above us right now, at numbers 8 and 9 respectively. I am very excited by this years recruiting class. We are getting great commitments both in-state and out of state.

There seems to be a lot of FBS level talent in the state this year.
We really need to capitalize on that fact and on the momentum of two 9 win seasons. I really believe this is one of the best times to be a rebel in my lifetime.
And we just got an OT commit out of Jackson this weekend

our latest Dandy Dozen recruit. He is a 4-star on Rivals and 3-star on Scout and ESPN.
Anytime we get a recruit who had an offer from Saban
you have to feel like you’ve landed a pretty good player. Even Auburn too, for that matter. With those offers, you have to wonder why memphis would even bother.
Or if the kid's just a really, really big fan

we were to contact all of Sabans recruits and tell them they are just being oversigned so no one else in the sec can get them. Meh, just a thought
