Rebel Roundup - 4/7/10
Spring Practice, Day 8 | Brandt
Nearly halfway over, spring practice has been fairly uneventful. It is great to hear that Ja-Mes ("juh-mez?") Logan is really developing well, as well as Rishaw Johnson who is finally out of the coaches' collective dog house. It's also good to hear that Tim Simon wasn't rendered a life-long cripple after the greusome injury he sustained against South Carolina.
Wednesday Morning Updates | Parrish Alford
Parrish, how in the hell are you going to write this
Matt Smith relayed an interesting story regarding his recruiting with his home-state school, Georgia. It wasn’t a situation where he almost went to Georgia. He was recruited by Bulldogs coach David Perno but never really cared for the program and didn’t like a comment Perno directed to him when Georgia visited Oxford in 2007.
and not tell us what was said? If I were to guess, Perno probably said something like "hey, Matt Smith, you fucking suck asshole you fuckstick and I hope you choke on your own vomit," but that's just me postulating here. Also in Alford's notes are his (good) opinions of Nathan Stanley's development and his thoughts regarding the futures of Chris Warren and Terrico White.
Ricky Robertson, SEC Freshman of the Week | Ole Miss Sports dot com
Check this out:
Robertson set a new school record in the high jump and won the event after turning in a height of 7-05.75. His mark surpassed the previous school record of 7-03.25 he set earlier in the year at the Alabama Relays. In addition, his height is tied for the best in the world thus far this year.
SUCK IT, WORLD!

Ja-Mes
I believe it’s pronounced “Imes.”
Red Cup Rebellion - Changing the culture of Ole Miss Athletics
Destroying your traditions since [YEAR REDACTED].
While we're sharing odd names, here's a true story:
the folks working at the same bar I’ve been drinking at every Tuesday night for the past two years screwed up my reservation* again. It was under the name “Ymch”. Not a first name. Not a last name. Just “Ymch”. That’s not even close to being a word, let alone somebody’s name.
*Reservations at a bar, you ask? It’s where we play Tuesday Trivia (a la Two Stick) here in the DC area and it gets crowded so, yes, they implore you to reserve a spot.

I love that people are buying into this. I will be surprised if it is not a bear.

I don't know who you are, but you must know me....
and you must be on the MSC with those wadded panties.

Anybody on here been to practice?
I would love to read someones first hand practice reports.
I've been trying to get some for a while now.
Answer the call, people.

That's nice
but I’d like unfiltered reports.. not highlights and coach speak.
We used to offer them,
but now none of us aside from Ivory Tower live in Oxford. Trust me, you don’t want IT delivering practice reports. Once again, if anybody wants to type them up for us then do so.

did you even watch them?
because J. Powe interviews are far from coach speak. Did you know that Jesse Grandy can punt the ball as far as Tyler Campbell? I sure didn’t.
I’m gonna try to catch practice today @ 4 and may be able to share some thoughts afterwards, although, happy hour is always a priority. Oh, and that whole graduation thing coming up in a couple weeks.
The best thing about last night’s game vs UALR? It didn’t rain until after the game was over
Well if you write a decent fanshot of your practice observations,
I’ll frontpage it.
