Just to make sure all know...

Mississippi State got bounced from the NIT by UNC.

by WVTNRebel on Mar 20, 2010 1:55 PM EDT reply actions

Nice. Just saw that.

also rebs up 3-1 going into 4th inning in lexington Ky.

by bovice on Mar 20, 2010 2:03 PM EDT up reply actions

Best part about it was

The went straight at Varnado and layed it in over him with 2 seconds left

So, in the link pankReb provided in fanposts...

When games go to commercial for UK, you can still hear the announcers talking. When they struck out with a man on second in the 7th, you can clearly hear him say, “He couldn’t hit a curveball if he had a gun to his head.”

by campbell4heisman on Mar 20, 2010 3:07 PM EDT reply actions

I thought I heard him say something weird like that.

Im watching the game and doing other stuff betwwen innings so I wasn’t sure. We really need to take this game today. Also, does anyone have info on Matt Smith?

by bovice on Mar 20, 2010 3:12 PM EDT up reply actions

I tried to use the link from ColJohnSartoris.

like I did for the Tulane series and last night, but never could get it going today.

by bovice on Mar 20, 2010 3:14 PM EDT up reply actions

i heard that too

i had to make sure it was what i heard, pretty awesome.

Good bats again today.

I was looking at the Gametracker and noticed that everyone in the lineup today except Mort has at least one hit. Zach Miller has two hits today. Hightower and Hamblin have 2 RBI’s each.

by bovice on Mar 20, 2010 3:30 PM EDT reply actions

Wow.

Ferguson literally just stole a solo HR away from Kentucky. Great play.

by bovice on Mar 20, 2010 3:30 PM EDT reply actions

Damn.

Goforth just gave up a solo HR. 7-3 Rebs. Bottom 8th. 1 out.

by bovice on Mar 20, 2010 3:32 PM EDT reply actions

Come on Goforth.

Finish the deal. Like epic beard man would.

by bovice on Mar 20, 2010 3:35 PM EDT reply actions

Damnit. Goforth's gotta go.

he just gave up a 3 run HR. 7-6 rebels. shit.

by bovice on Mar 20, 2010 3:37 PM EDT reply actions

Come on Bianco.

Don’t let Goforth fuck this up.

by bovice on Mar 20, 2010 3:37 PM EDT reply actions

popped up in foul territory.

kentucky gets the 4 runs back. 7-6 Rebs going to 9th innings. Damn. We need to get a few more runs in the top of the 9th.

From one of the announcers during a commercial:

“Butler and Murray State have to be playing what will go down as one of the most boring basketball games of all time.”

by allicolls on Mar 20, 2010 3:40 PM EDT reply actions

another gem from the booth

“this basketball game between murray st and butler is going to go down as the most boring game of all time.”

by campbell4heisman on Mar 20, 2010 3:40 PM EDT reply actions

Player of the Game

Ferguson, for snagging that would-be HR in the 8th

by allicolls on Mar 20, 2010 4:03 PM EDT reply actions

no kidding.

Didn’t know it would end up being that big of a play when we were up 7-2 at that point.

by bovice on Mar 20, 2010 4:05 PM EDT up reply actions

7-6 final. rebs win.

Huber gets fly out to Mathis to end it.

post Kansas loss.

This clever sonofibitch picked Tennessee to make the final 4.
high-risk, high-reward.

For real.

A lot of brackets are fucked right now. And Ivory, stop bringin’ politics on this ol’ Red Cup site kthxbai.

Tuesday night at 6 central

3-0 Kentucky

bottom of the first. Tracy not looking good.

by Juco All-American on Mar 21, 2010 1:20 PM EDT reply actions

neither is the feed from lexington...

Mine has sketched out twice…
Also, can’t wait to hear what this announcer says during the breaks when we can still hear him. But Sounds like a different guy from yesterday

by the love IS gone... to omaha on Mar 21, 2010 1:26 PM EDT via mobile up reply actions

I could get the cbs sports feed to work yesterday or today.

Im using pankreb’s link from the comment section of the free game fanpost. I’ve had to start it over a few times, but it’s worked fairly well for the most part. Maybe we can use that one for more rebel baseball this year.

by bovice on Mar 21, 2010 1:40 PM EDT up reply actions

FAIL.

I couldn’t get the CBS sports feed to work yesterday or today.

by bovice on Mar 21, 2010 1:41 PM EDT up reply actions

yeah that's the one i've been using all weekend

Its pretty good, just had to start it over twice in the first inning, its been fine since… Probably just jinxed it

by the love IS gone... to omaha on Mar 21, 2010 1:52 PM EDT via mobile up reply actions

Its obvious now.

Our sunday starter will be a glaring weakness all year long.

by bovice on Mar 21, 2010 1:25 PM EDT reply actions

Tacy works a scoreless second.

Maybe he’s settling down. We need to score some runs. Going into top of the 3rd, Kentucky still leads 3-0

by bovice on Mar 21, 2010 1:43 PM EDT reply actions

Alright Rebels.

We’ve got the 3,4, and 5 hitters up in the top 4th. Get some damn runs please?

by bovice on Mar 21, 2010 2:01 PM EDT reply actions

sometimes they play a cow bellowing...

On out of play foul balls. Strange. Is UK an ag school?

by the love IS gone... to omaha on Mar 21, 2010 2:27 PM EDT via mobile reply actions

probably, but it won't stop them from copying it...

They copy any and everything.
But what is bianco doing running goforth out there? I heard him tell G-darb he would pitch again today, but WHY when he gives up 3run bombs like its his job!

by the love IS gone... to omaha on Mar 21, 2010 2:35 PM EDT via mobile up reply actions

Bianco's thinking

is that he has to get Goforth in some situations that arent high pressure 1 run save situations so that he can pitch through this shit. Without morgan this year, we really need him too. But something is definitely wrong with him right now.

by bovice on Mar 21, 2010 2:37 PM EDT up reply actions

i see what u mean,

And I agree to a degree (rhyming!) But he needs someone to come in and shut em down, there’s plenty of outs left for us to pull this one out with the way we’ve been swinging the bats this year.

by the love IS gone... to omaha on Mar 21, 2010 2:46 PM EDT via mobile up reply actions

Yeah, there were plenty of outs to come back.

We’ve got to find a sunday pitcher. That must be CB’s #1 objective over the next couple of weeks.

by bovice on Mar 21, 2010 3:19 PM EDT up reply actions

fuck.

wht in the fuck is wrong with Goforth. just served up another 3 run bomb. Rebs down 7-0 now. game over we win series 2-1.

by bovice on Mar 21, 2010 2:35 PM EDT reply actions

good job rothlin

we could’ve used that kind of pitching all day today

by the love IS gone... to omaha on Mar 21, 2010 3:12 PM EDT reply actions

Definitely,

but I guess that’s payback for Ferguson hiding the ball yesterday when he robbed the homer.

by hottytoddytank on Mar 21, 2010 3:30 PM EDT up reply actions

Kentucky is up 12 to 3...

and we had 2 guys on base when they pulled the old hidden ball trick. Alex wandered off second and the guy slipped the ball out of his glove and tagged him.

by hottytoddytank on Mar 21, 2010 3:27 PM EDT reply actions

Is there any reason in particular

that Bianco decided to pack it up in the fourth inning today?

by Knob Creek Reb on Mar 21, 2010 3:38 PM EDT reply actions

rothlin's been very good.

does bianco run him out sunday or try someone else? but who? rory?

by the love IS gone... to omaha on Mar 21, 2010 3:49 PM EDT reply actions

Stat of the Weekend.

David Goforth: ERA: 81.8, Opp. BA .750%, k/9 0.0 2 BB 4hr , 1.1 innings
Rest of Staff: ERA: 2.23, Opp BA .241%, k/9 10.08 9 BB 24.2 innings

Thank you for letting Goforth pitch through his slump today, Mike.

by Knob Creek Reb on Mar 21, 2010 4:56 PM EDT reply actions

We're just going to have to figure out how to win every Friday and Saturday.

Our pitching has been bad during this Sunday losing streak, but the rest of our play has been bad as well. We make errors, can’t get meaningful hits, and just look all around bad.

by weloveum on Mar 21, 2010 5:01 PM EDT reply actions

I agree but, If David had not screwed the game we would have

had a shot at Kentucky.

We’ve got three reliable guys in the Bullpen in Crouse, Callendar, and Huber.

It’s time to start using those guys.

It’s also time to give Rothlin the Sunday games.

by Knob Creek Reb on Mar 21, 2010 5:41 PM EDT reply actions

Did you forget that Rothlin had the Sunday games?

He lost that privilege when he gave up 10 hits and 6 runs in 3.2 against Tulane. Against Louisville in relief he gave up 3 hits and 3 runs in 0.2. I’m don’t know who the answer is, but I’m not sure it’s Rothlin.

by weloveum on Mar 21, 2010 6:03 PM EDT up reply actions

Rothlin has the best numbers.

He’s fared better than Tracey.

If Huber can go 7, I’d pitch him.
