Rebel Roundup - 3/10/10

Rebs Take NCAA Hopes to The Music City | Ole Miss Sports dot Com
Friday, the Rebels will face the winner of the LSU Tennessee opening round matchup to begin their play in the SEC Basketball Tournament. This game is absolutely crucial to our NCAA tournament hopes so, if these guys have any fight left in them, they'll make a hell of a game out of it.

Polynice Back, Could Play Friday | That guy
Alright, but do we want him to play Friday? I'll take a Terrico White finally using his body to attack the lane, a healthy Buckner, and a red-hot Chris Warren over a bunch of spin moves and wackyier-than-shit finger rolls.

SEC Hoops Power Poll Results
Oh yeah, that. We're fifth right now per the tallied votes of the SEC blogosphere. Considering our dire NCAA situation, that's a bit generous per my opinion but, whatever, I'll take it. Moral Victories HUZZAH!

Rebels Pound out 16 Hits in Win | Ole Miss Sports dot Com
A surprisingly solid performance from Rory McKean + sixteen hits = a 14-4 victory for the Rebels over Austin Pee. I wasn't there, so I'll let this from the Corporate Headquarters suffice:

Tim Ferguson and Kevin Mort paced a torrid Rebel offense right out of the gates. Ferguson hit a home run in the Rebels' first at bat and went 3-for-5 with three runs scored and an RBI, while Mort went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI. Six Rebels tallied multiple hits on the night in the win, including left-handed pitcher Matt Tracy, who served as designated hitter. Tracy was 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored.

While Rory had given us all little reason to have faith in him...

maybe last night was a signal that he’s finally settled into the season. I hope that’s the case because we need a guy like him that could be a mid-week starter or middle relief on the weekends. Good luck Rory.

Somebody please

stop Kennedy from even considering playing Polynice…. I’d kind of like to beat UT on Friday and by kind of I want to see Pearl on his knees in tears.
