First things first, what a joke of a tournament. Kudos to Colorado State for winning it, but there couldn't have been 100 people at those games. The field looks better for next year certainly, but is there actually a chance that the attendance improves dramatically? It's not so much the location as the timing of the tournament. Christmas Eve? Seriously?

Anyway, here's how it shaped up game by game:

Losing Trevor early against Colorado State really hurt. He was playing the best basketball of his Rebel career and had carried us against Texas State the night before. Chris seemed to fall into panic mode that game and really take us out of our offense with a bevy of bad shots. That game was just painful to watch.

The player I was most disappointed with though was Buckner. He never once seemed to be in the game.I'm not sure where his head was, but it was quite obviously not in the games. He was lost defensively and non-existent on the offensive end. If not for the injury, Trevor would have almost certainly passed Buckner for the season lead in +/-.

Fortunately, Terrance played well all week. He's such a weapon when he's not sitting on the bench with foul trouble. We've got to keep him in the game. It would be interesting to go back and look at the +/- numbers are for only those times when Reggie and Terrance are on the floor together. I imagine it's not even close. When those two are focused and on the floor together, we're a significantly better team than when they're not. I'll probably calculate that out tonight since I'm hobbled (and probably about to get a walking boot) with a severly sprained ankle.
