Maybe he's no Tim Tebow, but Bradley Sowell is, at the very least, a wordsmith of epic proportions.
Thanks for the quick turnaround on my graphic request, Goose.

While certainly not as inspiring,
it is just as program-defining as Tebow’s promise.

Unfortunately
That is so true. I actually thought about how unbelievably different this response is when compared to a good football player/team losing a game. I could care less that he has apologized and said he misspoke a few days later. When he came off the field and when the emotions of the game were still going, this is really how he feels and what he was thinking during the game. He didn’t want to win, he wanted the pressure to be off of him. He just wanted it to be over with. He wanted to not live up to the hype, to not win a championship, to not go down as one of if not the greatest Ole Miss’ team of all time, to not change everyone’s opinion of Ole Miss.
Basically, he is the anti-winner. I can’t wait for him to be benched.

Whatever,
I enjoyed being ranked in the top five, and I don’t enjoy the quote. However, I enjoy this ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U7Jqlcupfdw) even less.
I was born in Mississippi, and I don't take any stuff from you, and if I hit you on your head, boy, it's got to make it black and blue.
Did anyone notice that dude's got a BLUE
class ring on…Barn? Ole Miss agent provocateur?

Could be his high school.
Or his class ring from the academy of being horribly unoriginal and haughty.

That guy's retarded!
How the hell can he talk about “embarassing” anybody when he’s dressed like that? Between him and Ricky, I can see why I lot of folks hate us. 99% of us Bammers aren’t like that. I think it will be a really good game in 2 weeks.

Maybe a poser.
At least I hope so, because no real person dresses like that.
Maybe its possible for some frat douchebag to actually act like that.
I used to have hair like that.
Didn't you hear me say God bless George Washington, God bless my mother? What kinda Injun would say a fool thing like that?

Sowell may end up as the most disliked Rebel of all time if this season goes to shit, despite the efforts of Chuck Rounsaville.

Agreed, this royal chuckle-fuck just put his face on the Wheates box if we go down. Who will be the poster child of the new generation of the phrase “We Are…..Ole Miss?” That guy.

I dunno
I’ve been disappointed by Sowell’s playing.. and that quote was a bad move… but I’m also reminded that a certain Michael Oher wasn’t a football genius his first season either. In fact, he was just as bad. So I guess I’ll join the “give him time to grow and learn” boat on Sowell. While said boat may sink this year, I think he will be a beast after a good full season under him.

Just as bad...
that’s an interesting claim.

Just as bad? No way.
Oher played guard his first season at Ole Miss and was named a Freshman All-American.

Perhaps. Or maybe Tre Stallings?
He went from “pretty bad at tackle” to “draft pick” so all hope isn’t lost for Sowell.

Except...
that Tre is still bad. I love the guy. I thought he was a lot of fun to be around while he was in Oxford, but he’s not playing on Sundays.

I don't care that he sucks in the NFL.
He was a good tackle for us his junior and senior years.

I think Sowell has played poorly.
And I’m all for the general criticism of his on-the-field play, but I think parsing a 20-year-old’s off-the-cuff comments for a subconscious “loser” mentality is haughty and unfair. JUCO and I argued about this yesterday. I argued that it’s just as likely that Bradley was simply inarticulately repeating what Coach Nutt has been saying since January – polls don’t matter.
Quotes get taken out of context all the time, and folks get assigned motivations they may or may not have meant. Ask Trent Lott.
Destroying your traditions since [YEAR REDACTED].
No you didn't...
…play the Trent Lott card?! lol Our most famous cheerleader. At least he got out while the money was still flowing.. or before he went down with Scruggs – depending on which side of the political fence you play on.
As for Sowell, I just think his comments, and his playing, are reflective and realistic of his experience. It’s just more highlighted because we’re in a season where the world had us pegged to win it all. If this was last year or the year before, everyone would have shrugged their shoulders and moved on. I really do think after his first season, he will come together and we’ll all be praising his name next year and continually until he signs the multi-million dollar NFL contract and stars as himself in a movie about him. At least that’s how I hope it plays out.
