What BWE means by this
is that he is likely to go pro rather than play for our Rebels.
Take a picture, trick.

Where do I know his name from?
Wasn’t he SP’s QB as well? And…unless I just totally managed to miss this this spring, just how good is the UofSP at baseball?
Yes he was.
I don’t know anything about South Panola’s baseball team other than the fact that Renfroe is a baller.

Quick Renfroe story
I saw Renfroe pitch a couple times while he was at USP, which by the way is NOT a baseball school. Renfroe was a junior when I saw him pitch, though, so he’s probably progressed a bit.
He’s a big kid that throws hard but already has some offspeed stuff working for him. He doesn’t have amazing control, but at the high school level, he struck out batters with pitches in the dirt from my limited scouting of him.
The rumor is that Renfroe is asking $3 million or top ten pick kind of money no matter when he got picked. The fact that Boston moved on him pretty early and that they spend money like it might crumble away if left in their pockets shows that they will try to strike a deal with him.
He’s obviously got great stuff or he wouldn’t have gotten drafted this high.
Interesting fact, the former AD at USP wouldn’t allow players to play two sports, because it made the players lose weight in the spring. This is apparently why Renfroe didn’t start until after that AD left the school. Just some Batesville chatter for you.
If I predict it, there's an 50 percent chance it happens.

Another quick note
Renfroe would rather be playing SS at the next level, so if the Sox want him to pitch, he may not sign any offer from them and end up in Oxford.
