Whiskey Wednesday and I are departing this afternoon for New York, New York to attend--this is not a joke--a sports bloggers convention. As such, we'll be having a damn good time and avoiding the intratubes as best we can. If you're in NYC for the weekend and would like to meet up with us, just look for whatever party has Eli Manning and P Diddy. We'll undoubtedly be right there.

you might as well stop by Central Park for the Mississippi Picnic.
I’ve been before and had a great time.
I really want to go to that
but it coincides with the convention-thingy. I will be at Mississippi on the Mall in Washington next weekend, so hopefully that will make up for my snubbing of the Central Park event.

New York in the middle of the summer...?

NYC in the summer isn't too bad...
…just keep subway travel to a minimum. Few things suck worse, for all five senses, than a crowded subway platform in summer. Weather should be good this weekend, though, and there’s a “BBQ Festival” in Manhattan this weekend.

In retrospect
I have no idea why I mentioned a BBQ Fest when you’re in NY f’ing City.
I skipped lunch today, this can really be the only reason.
