Alex Canaan, NH: What is one under the radar team that will make a BCS game

 Ivan Maisel: TCU is the top candidate from the non-automatic-qualifying leagues. I think Ole Miss has a shot. Nebraska. Iowa has a longshot’s chance in the Big Ten. My colleague Ted Miller likes Cal as a BCS dark horse.

Brandon (San Antonio, Tx): With Saban mentioning Arkansas rather than Ole Miss as the team to look out for in the SEC West, what do you think the chances are for Arkansas to be this years Ole Miss.

 Mark Schlabach: I think the Hogs will be much better in Petrino’s second season. With Ryan Mallett coming in at quarterback, you figure the passing game will be much better. But the schedule is very, very difficult. Arkansas could be the most-improved team in the SEC, but the record might not be a ton better because the schedule is so difficult. At Alabama, at Florida, at LSU, at Ole Miss. That’s tough.

 Bruce Feldman: I don’t think so. The O-line has too many questions coupled with a first time QB. Plus they have to go to Ole Miss this season.

Pretty good comments about Ole Miss overall. That said, after listening to the baseball game today, I’ll keep my expectations low for football. Just when I think one of our teams are playing well, they fuck it up. Who knows, maybe we’ll make make some noise in the ncaa. Either that or we’ll set some kind of record for most base runners stranded.
