Another one run win!

After Tuesday's 8-7 win over Jackson State, Evan Button, the player who had the winning RBI, said, "Good teams find a way to win one run games."  With a man on first and second, Button stepped to the plate...

He proceeded to hit a sharp single through the four hole that scored Hasman from second base.  Button delievered again to put the Rebels ahead for good at 4-3.

Matt Smith tied the game at 3 as he reached on a fielder's choice. The third baseman threw the ball to 2nd to start the double play.  However, the ball went into centerfield, and Power scored from third to tie the game at three.

It was a pitcher's duel due to Irwin (Pomeranz is sick, will pitch tomorrow) settling down after he gave up three runs in the third.  Irwin went eight complete, struck out seven, allowed seven hits and three runs.

An RBI single from Henry, a HR from Miller, and a run prior to the Button single got the game tied.  Then, Button delivered.

In the top of the ninth, Jake Morgan entered the game and struck out the side with ease.  That gives him his 2nd save of the season.

Personally, I cannot believe that we keep coming back, but it is the mark of a good team.

Saturday's pitching match-up:

Drew Pomeranz LHP (2-0, 3.55 ERA)

Chris Rusin LHP (4-1, 3.21 ERA)

According to One Man to Beat, Rusin leads the staff in K's, IP, W's and ERA.  It should also be mentioned that Ole Miss is 5-0 in games that Pom has started.

The game will start at 4:00.
