Yeah Prisco is full of it...

Snead will stay for his Senior season and be the first pick in 2011.

I wouldn't necessarily think that and am ok if he left under the right circumstances.

I posted it elsewhere but there are a lot of mitigating factors involved with it and the NFL.
If next year is potentially the last year without a rookie salary cap, AND if he is predicted to go in the top 7 or 8, then I would be all for him going. Not to mention that his success is without a doubt almost directly related to our success in 2009.
(Obviously declare in Jan and have to go through the combine et al.)

I’ll be suprised if he stays more than another year, especially if he is projected higher than the other QB’s, which wouldn’t suprise me if he plays like he is capable of playing. Also, isn’t this next draft the last one before they impose some sort of new salary restrictions? I might be totally off on that last sentence. Don’t follow NFL that closely.

From my understanding, they could potentiall y have a rookie salary cap in place as soon as next year.

It is not necessarily a done deal but they would have to have a CBA in place by March 2010 for that to happen. I think its a given that it will happen but it is a question of when.

Stay in school

All this talk of “He should quit school and enter the draft” really ticks me off. And I don’t mean just for Snead. Having a completed college education is exponentially better than using a school as a stepping stone for the chance at a pro career that is one injury away from disaster.

And as far as Snead is concerned, why on earth should we want our star QB to leave before he has to? I, for one, enjoyed last season. I would like to see more like it.

I would rather him stay in school if it was up to me. It ain't up to me.

That being said, if he goes in as a projected #1 – 10 overall (unlikely, but possible and it has at least been thrown out there now); given the circumstances surrounding that (he would have most likely excelled for us in 09), then I understand.
I also think our OLine will be rebuilding for 10 moreso than they are with the loss of Oher this year. Think we’re losing 3 starters again.

And as mentioned below, he should be basically through with school anyway.
Also, I do not know his family’s financial situation.

On an unrelated note....

Tebow is mentioned in the preface but is then only listed as “one to watch” at the very bottom Prisco’s ranking. Is this assuming he will go straight to med school or what?

Tebow

This is due to Tebow not being a Pro-style QB. It is not crazy to think that he won’t even be drafted as a QB, if at all.

Have to go....

If you are projected as a top five pick, or even as a top ten pick, you have to go. Sneed will be a fourth year Junior so I would think this time next year he should be close to graduating anyway. Having a QB picked very, very high in the draft is a great selling point to recruits in the near future. You can’t buy that type of publicity, unless you are Mississippi State and you can promote the fact that Machine Gun Kelly went to school there for two years.
